South Central Tennessee Development District houses the South Central Tennessee Area Agency of Aging and Disability (SCAAAD). This is designated by the Tennessee Commission on Aging & Disability to develop a comprehensive and coordinated community based system in South Central Tennessee to serve and represent people who are 60 years of age or older and adults with physical disabilities.

The role of the AAAD is to serve as advocates for the elderly and disabled adult population and to establish awareness of this role before the public and other organizations. When you call the AAAD, a professional resource specialist will provide you with accurate, up-to-date information about community resources and support.
