Read Alyssa’s employer’s perspective on her journey:
When Alyssa Blackwell first joined us as an Adult Education assistant through the Dislocated Worker program, she worked closely with our Lead Success Coach, Linda Hatcher. At that time, we had no idea that we were going to receive a Rural Healthcare grant.
Today, Alyssa serves as a full-time Workforce Development Coordinator for our Rural Healthcare students. Navigating healthcare courses can be daunting, but Alyssa provides coaching as soon as students enroll and encouragement to help them stay on track. Thanks to her warmth and dedication, many students have successfully stayed motivated, earned a healthcare certificate, and are now confidently chasing their dreams in the high-demand medical field. Alyssa also brings a unique superpower to the team: her incredible IT skills! She has breathed new life into old, donated laptops, refurbishing them so our students have the technology they need to succeed.
We are incredibly lucky to have Alyssa’s big heart and brilliant mind on our team. Thank you, Alyssa, for keeping our spirits high and our computers running smoothly!
