The South Central Area Transportation System (SCATS) recently held its second quarterly training session of the year. As part of a new training initiative launched in 2026, SCATS drivers and staff gather each quarter to review important updates and best practices related to safety, operations, and customer service.
Approximately 120 employees attended the day of training and professional development.

Transportation Safety Coordinator Roberta “Birdie” Morrow led sessions on CPR, first aid, and wheelchair securement procedures. Transportation Mobility Manager Robin Bridgeforth provided updates on transportation operations and services, while Christa Sinyard, Jenny Green, and Lucy Szydlowski introduced employees to the organization’s new timekeeping system.

Attendees enjoyed Red Seven Pizza and donuts throughout the day as they participated in the various training sessions.

A special recognition was presented to Joe Hopkins for his outstanding response in assisting a vulnerable client.
The quarterly training program provides employees with opportunities to strengthen skills, receive operational updates, and stay informed on procedures and services.
SCATS looks forward to hosting its first Annual SCATS Rodeo on Saturday, September 12.
