As a disabled veteran, having a safe, accessible, and stable home means more than I can put into words—and thanks to the Lawrence County HOME Grant Program, I now have a brand-new place to call my own. I want to personally thank County Executive David Morgan, THDA, and the South Central Tennessee Development District.
Your hard work, support, and dedication have given me more than a house — you’ve given me hope, security, and a fresh start. I will be able to move in as soon as my covered front porch and ramps on the front and back of the house are built! I will not miss my old home with the leaking roof. I look forward to having adequate heat and not worrying if I’m going to fall through my floors.”

As administrators of the HOME Grant Program, the South Central Tennessee Development District is honored to work alongside communities across South Central Tennessee to help provide safe, accessible housing for those who need it most.
The HOME Grant Program, offered through the Tennessee Housing Development Agency (THDA), is a federally funded initiative that provides housing assistance through cities, counties, nonprofit agencies, and public housing authorities. Funding is awarded through a competitive application and scoring process to qualifying individuals and families.
SCTDD oversees program administration and compliance while working closely with local municipalities to review applications and coordinate housing awards that make stories like this possible.
