South Central Tennessee Development District Welcomes New Workforce Team Member, Ashley Clevenger 
Mt. Pleasant, TN. — December 1st, 2025
The South Central Tennessee Development District (SCTDD) is pleased to welcome Ashley Clevenger to its Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA) Department, where she will support job seekers, employers, and community partners across the region.
Clevenger’s professional journey is one of continual growth. She began her career in 2009 as a crew member at McDonald’s, working her way into management and ultimately becoming an Area Supervisor, overseeing multiple locations through 2022. That same year, she joined the South Central Human Resource Agency (SCHRA) as an Accounting Technician. While working full-time, she returned to school—enrolling at Athens State University in January 2023 and earning her Bachelor’s degree in December 2025. She was promoted to Accounting Procurement Oversight Manager at SCHRA in July before transitioning to SCTDD in October.

She brings both valuable experience and exceptional potential to SCTDD, and we look forward to the amazing things her leadership will bring.”
“I’m excited to join the SCTDD team,” said Clevenger. “ I live in Fayetteville with my husband and two daughters. I earned my Bachelor’s Degree from Athens State University and previously worked for SCHRA. I’m committed to helping others access opportunities for growth and success through workforce programs. Outside of work, I enjoy traveling, spending time with my family, and serving in my church and local community.”
SCTDD is confident that Clevenger’s lived experience, from frontline service to organizational leadership, will bring great insight to its workforce development efforts and the communities it serves.
